Wattpad-level billionaire fan fiction. I found it cringey and nothing made any sense.

Cute but frustrating book. Typical everyday girl fakes a relationship with a billionaire but ends up falling in love story. However, the premise at the beginning of the book doesn't make sense. If you plan to be engaged to her, why are you making her your assistant? That is the best way for horrible rumors to spread about her. They cover the why at the end which makes up for it a little but there were better ways to accomplish the same goal. While the story was predictable and the MCs made questionable choices, it was still a cute read. Took a little too long to get there but still cute.
The blurb at the end made me excited to read the next one, so I will give the author another try :)

I really liked this book. It has a lot of spicy but it also has a plot. The tension between the two main characters is very intense. The chemistry is also there it just takes a little for them to realize it. Beck is just simply and completely head over heels with Margo from day one. He is extremely attentive with her and would do anything for her. Margo just got over a heartbreak and when Beck comes along with his proposal she can’t say no but she struggles with herself through the process.
Tropes: touch her and you die, brother’s ex-girlfriend, fake dating, billionaire romance, spicy.

Content Warnings: sexual content, sexual assault, violence,
Mention of: cheating, loss of loved one[s], loss of a child,

He knew she was meant to be his from the moment he first saw her...and he'll do whatever it takes to prove it to her. 🥰

I was a bit worried about how this story would play out since she was with her ex, aka his brother, for 3 years...but honestly the little she mentions about her past relationship...it doesn't really make sense that they were together so long.

Excited to see what relationships her two best friends get into and how many other series are connected so I can meet more and more couples from this universe. ^^

I saw this book had some bad reviews on goodreads and honestly, I think this is a case of "don't yuck someone's yum"
I personally LOVED this book for the exact reason people were dissing it - the Dom/sub relationship. Him asking for her terms in the same way you'd ask for a safeword before you jump into a scene, the consent and begging 🥵 Needless to say, I'm giving it a good rating. 4.5/5 with the .5 taken off just because the plot dropped a bit.
If you're a fan of Dom/sub, begging, and praise I implore you to read Black Ties and White Lies by Kat Singleton. Pro tip- it gets reeaally good at Chapter 30 😘

An HEA worth reading for!

I honestly had a really hard time liking Beck… I know a lot of people insta-love his alphahole-ness, but a lot of the way he went about things was rubbing me the wrong way (probably Kat’s intention tbh). Meanwhile Margo was incredibly relatable in her messiness and insecurities. But the 5✨ HEA made this a solid read and I’m excited for book 2 releasing soon!!
