Needed to read this slowly and digest it but then library loan expired and it got lost in the shuffle.

Didn't have the brain capacity to do non-fiction and ran out of renewals at the library.

This book knocked me on my ass. As did its predecessor, Radical Acceptance. I recommend both very highly to spiritual seekers. There’s a fierceness to tenderness. It takes real courage to choose softening over armoring against. I appreciate Brach’s easily accessible language and the gift of having my spiritual ass handed to me. I recommend the audiobook because she leads you in mindfulness practices at the end of chapters and that shit is awesome.

I’ve never so connected with a philosophy or self-help book as I did with this one. I picked it up to learn more about the RAIN practice, and that was even better than I imagined it could be. Highly highly recommend to literally anyone.
