Clever and insightful, I agree with a lot of what David Mitchell says (except on brexit) and some of his observations have shown themselves to be very true throughout covid. Could have some with more funny and less big topics in my opinion as that’s why I enjoy watching him on tv. He’s quick and intelligent and it was probably worth the hours of listening.

This book is not original writing; rather it is a compilation of articles the author has written for his newspaper column. As such, the non-continuity makes this very easy to pick up for a few minutes and be briefly entertained without committing too much time to reading. The irreverent opinions and rants are very funny - well worth it if you like Mitchell's humour.

Getting to listen to David Mitchell read his own work is quite a treat. This book is a collection of short reflections on various subjects, loosely tied together by themes into chapters.

A few funny lines in the whole book. That’s it. It was a real slog for me to read. I wanted to DNF it and probably should’ve! Don’t bother unless you’re super into British politics and someone’s slightly out of touch although still left leaning views on it all.
