The plot sounded cute but… man. The characters. I just didn’t like most of them. They are supposed to be adults but their actions were very YA.
Normally I’m a huge fan of books that take place over a long period of time—I get annoyed by characters who love each other after knowing each other for three days—but this one missed the mark. Again, due to the characters’ immaturity. The entire book could be condensed to two chapters if only the characters would have an honest conversation with each other. I know this is a common conflict used in fiction, but it’s far less of a deal over the course of a few months versus TEN YEARS.
That all being said, I did tear through this book because I was curious how it would come to an end and how all the pieces would fall into place.
Also, I thought this was a Christian book but it wasn’t. It was clean in that there wasn’t any suggestive content and the most the characters did was kiss. So, if you like clean books, here’s one for you! If you’re looking for Christian content, you won’t find it here.

For readers who adore lighthearted, humorous romance stories with a touch of whimsy and a strong focus on the power of love and second chances, this is a delightful and engaging read that will sweep them off their feet.

I can’t decide between 3 and 4 stars. So, we will say 3.5. Listened via Audible. Great narrator.
Four stars for comedy, fun characters, and a unique story. The narrator of the audiobook was really good. Three stars for no Christian content. I was disappointed that there was so much emphasis on Hollywood and nothing about the Bible, prayer, etc. I felt very conflicted.
The main character had a lot of issues, but I disagree with those who say she was mean and very unlikeable. We ALL have our quirks, insecurities, etc. I would hope we’d all have more compassion and more relatability than judgment about others.

It was definitely enjoyable and a pretty easy listen (it took me a while simply because I don’t listen to audiobooks in my free time a lot). Typical romcom and a sweet ending, if kinda predictable.

While part of this story’s ending is something that can be guessed on approach, there is a twist element I didn’t see coming & I loved that. This story is original, but classically rom-com. I loved the characters. They felt realistic for people with somewhat flashy careers at times, relatable in their thinking & quite entertaining. The ups & downs were all perfectly timed for the momentum of the story. There was really nothing I disliked about it! It’s lighthearted but emotional and very funny. I highly recommend it!!
