Some parts it drones on. This is a pretty philosophical book and poses some really interesting questions and possible answers to those big questions. Love how it sifts through both helpful and harmful effects of religion on a people. The ending was surprising and beautiful, the xenocide was not of the species I expected.

Good book! Quite philosophical, thought-provoking and technical.

Enjoyed the concept of outside, kind of like a fifth dimension beyond time. Was hoping the daughter on Path would come around eventually but alas I was disappointed. Interested to see where the newly born siblings go in the next instalment.

A very enjoyable book to read. The characters and themes were quite complex and very well explored. This book will make you reflect quite a bit. However it is not just a philosophical book, it still had a very nicely paced, intresting plot that chugs along. Will capture you.

3.5 stars. Really enjoyed this book overall, but dang it could have been shorter. 60% of the length with some of the chatter snipped away would have done the book good. Still, there was a ton of good meat in there and I highlighted a lot of good stuff. I'll keep on with the series of course. I love the characters.
