Another very enjoyable read, a well crafted plot and a wonderful ending. I found this one a lot better than the previous book, which was lacking somewhat. Back to form here though.

Another intriguing but also familiar plot: attractive woman neighbor of Montalbano's is using him and you know no good will come of it. Montalbano is wise to her game. Mafia, drugs and a love triangle. It's not clear what's going on. And we have the continuing effort to oust Montalbano by a media person but the commissioner takes Montalbano's side for a change.Just a nice mystery to quickly grab you. I wonder how Camilleri is going to end this series? I love this series and eagerly await each installment and then I just gulp them down. Don't know what I will do once it's over.

My enjoyment of this series is SO dependent on my mood. Am I in the mood for satire and dry humor? If yes, then I enjoy it, if not, then I don’t. I’m not going to rate this one for that reason (guess which mood I was in when I read this

Another reliably readable Montalbano mystery. An unreliable neighbour? Warehouse bombs? I read these stories more for the picture I get of the Sicily in which the books are set, the food Montalbano eats and his interactions with colleagues, suspects and citizens. This one didn't disappoint.
