I have loved this book ever since I first read (at age nine or ten), and I think I always will.

Anne is a bit more whimsical than me (I think I'm more similar to Emily), but we share a love of nature and a habit of using long words and talking entirely too much. Through her, I discovered the concept of "kindred spirits."

There are so many good things about this story. To find out more of them, go read it.

"Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we know all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there? But am I talking too much? People are always telling me I do. Would you rather I didn't talk? If you say so I'll stop. I can STOP when I make up my mind to it, although it's difficult."

This book is somehow even more charming and delightful now that I'm reading it as an adult and parent. How did Lucy Maud Montgomery do this?!? How am I STILL weeping over the Matthew chapter?
My eldest child is now reading it and swears that they would be bosom friends with Anne. This book is magic.

C'est Anne et la maison aux pignons verts, quoi! Comment ça aurait pu être autrement qu'un 5 étoiles?

I love this book. I only wish I would have read it when I was young. Everything about it. Love it.
