Weer een kort verhaal, leuk genoeg, maar niet dat ik zeg van; wauw daar wil ik meer over lezen. Ik snap de clue en het komt tot z'n recht als kort verhaal. Meer kan ik er eigenlijk niet over zeggen.

Okay, I understand there was so much toxic masculinity, sexism, and gaslighting going on... but I do believe that was literally the point. The "princes" were trash, and they did not hide that in the slightest. I liked the murder mystery, some people review that it was predictable, but I didn't get that, I was intrigued and really enjoyed it. Did it have the most shocking twists or most groundbreaking story about masculinity that I've ever read? No, but I liked it for what it was.

I will say though, the Disney/Fairytale names did get confusing.

This is a modern-day re-imagined adult version of an amalgamation of classic fairy tales. This one pits princes against princesses and becomes a murder mystery. At Chaminade High, several young girls, some of the "princesses" of the school, have turned up dead. Fingers are pointing toward the young, handsome jocks mostly known as the princes of the school. Undercover agents who have been working within the school for some time as a bumbling Chemistry teacher and a new jock in school are interrogating the boys in hopes of a confession or at least a clue as to which boy has been doing the deed. What the men uncover is a caste system among the students leaving motive for everyone.

This short story is writing in a playscript style. I don't think that was necessary and didn't add anything to the story. Made it seem like lazy writing because all you had to do was write the dialogue. Despite that, the story itself was well written and highlights the issues with bullying within schools and how class systems are created in all types of human settings.

I liked the concept of this story, but I think it would have been better and more thrilling if it’d been a full-length novel. I wasn’t a fan of any of the characters and I thought the reveal was kinda predictable…
