Yes! I'm so glad I read this book, much better than the first one!

I loved Chad, so freaking amazing! I enjoyed this read from the start. I think everything is better developed this time around, you can see how a story begins between Chad and Bridget in the first couple of pages and keeps going during the whole book.

I liked how everything happened in a right pace, that way I was hooked from the beginning and I was looking forward to know how things were going to end.

The relationship between Chad and Bridget was so exciting, they had great chemistry and the sexual tension between them was awesome. I hated the publicist right away but then I thought she wasn't so bad. The hot scenes were good, Chad was my favorite character for sure.

I liked this end better than the one in 'Tempting the Best Man', it felt more realistic to me.

Can't wait for Chandler's story! :)

I am totally loving the gamble brothers series, and holy hell, this one was hotter than the first one!

So we have Chad, the brother of Chase and a star baseball player, who is also a ladies man and has a bad reputation.

Then we have Bridget, Maddi's assistant and a downright quirky dresser.

Chad is assigned a harsh publicist and after some not so good publicity, one of which us a picture of Chad kissing Bridget in the paper the publicist takes action.

Chad is thrust together with a woman who has all the right curves as a fake girlfriend that has to at least last a month. Bridget has been blackmailed into it!

The heat sizzles between them to such a degree that they can't help but fall for each other even before they finally make love.

A misunderstanding has then breaking apart leaving them both miserable. It is the publicist that puts them back on the right track to their happy ever after.

A brilliant rainy day read.

"Tempting the Player" is the second book in the "Gamble Brothers" series by J. Lynn (aka Jennifer L. Armentrout) and what a sequel it was! This book came close to being a home run and I'm beginning to think that the author has a knack for frustrating both the characters and the readers so that when everything finally comes together...BAM! Hahaha. ^.^

Chad Gamble is the middle Gamble brother and is a popular professional baseball player for the Nationals. He's also known as a player off the baseball field and his team's management has had enough of his bed- and club-hopping ways...but he doesn't know exactly what they have up their sleeve (the "evil" publicist Alana Gore) when he meets Bridget Rodgers at a club. Readers will remember Bridget from the first book, "Tempting the Best Man", as Madison Daniels' assistant and friend. Things get heated between the two pretty quickly but don't end exactly as planned. When they meet again, the could never have predicted how fate and a little help from the nosy publicist will have their lives in a tizzy.

I loved the relationship between Chad and Bridget. Yes, there were moments of frustration yet again and I was a tad iffy with the ending BUT this was still a great read and there's simply no turning away from the Gamble brothers or the women they fall in love with. ^.^

"Tempting the Player" gets four out of five stars...and I shall try to be patient while I wait for the third book, "Tempting the Bodyguard" (Chandler Gamble and Alana Gore's story), to be released next year. ^.^

I'm torn with these books. I really like them but I'm struggling with the pace. Everything is great but always seemed so rushed with the HFN endings. It is a shame because this series of interconnected standalones has the potential to be so much more. The characters and writing are good which is why I'm frustrated.

I always love and feel have fun reading JLA’s books. Although I would’ve loved it was more to the point like the past book, I have a soft spot for fake relationships.

This was a great story and I really liked both Chad and Bridget. I love baseball and bad boys, so this fit nicely with my likes :). Another nice touch was that Bridget was a real girl and didn't have the shape of a supermodel. The whole point that she could land a hot, professional baseball player makes it all the more compelling for the rest of us who are just "average". The story was well paced and the few dilemmas that did occur were relatively realistic and resolved nicely. It was also nice to see Madison and Chase again, and I actually like this story better than theirs! The ending was swoon worthy, and I would have liked an epilogue to give us a little more time with the two of them together. But, I guess we will have to wait and see them in Chandler's book.
