At first I wasn't sure how much I was going to like this book. This was the first Blakely book I needed to take a mental break while reading. Max irritated the mess out of me throughout the majority of the story! He kept flip flopping, was being hot and cold. Honestly, I wanted to strangle him. Then I wanted to give him a hug. Eventually, Max became the man I knew he could be and I loved how he realized his mistakes from the past, got his head out of his ass and got his woman! Seeing him fall in love with Henley was so sweet. In typical Blakely fashion I was left with a smile on my face once the book was over. As I said before when it comes to romantic comedies no one is touching Lauren Blakely!!

I also had the audio upgrade narration and as usual Sebastian York didn't disappoint!

Max is one of the top – if not the actual top – of the auto restoration and customization trade in New York City. Talented – and hot - Henley was once apprenticed under him, but, after an argument that resulted from a painting mix-up, she was let go several years prior. When the two end up working together on a major project, sparks begin to fly.

Told from Max’s point of view, this is a fun read. Max and Henley have great chemistry, and the fact that Henley is a strong, independent female in a male dominated field is awesome.

While Blakely doesn’t really put this title under a series, Max has made appearances in a couple of previous novels.

I have to say: Really…they are part of a series. What makes a series? Books that have a people and places in common? (check – Max is in two other books, all set in NYC). A common theme? (check – all of this non-series are told from the male’s point-of-view). So, I’m calling this a series. And because of that, I’m kind of bummed I’ve been reading them out of order.

What I like about this book:
1. The Hero, Max. He is larger than life itself. Not to mention super alpha caveman male. He is cynical funny, rough and sweet. Sweet like a candy you want to suck it clean. I do love Miss Blakely idea to write her hero to be alpha but can cry.

2. The story is fast paced. Full of cynical comical banters. It really hits the spot. I consider myself a cynical person, so I snort a laugh while listening to the audio book.

3. The sex is hot. It starts with lingering flirting and then slowly build into explosion. Really explosion. Like a bomb.

4. The playlist!

What I don't like about this book:
1. I want to see more layer/ plot into the story. So it makes it more heavy and more drama. I love a good drama.

Overall, I do enjoy the book.

Oh Max. You're so sweet. If my husband bought me a new car and $10,000 worth of books and a new shelf in place of the tools, I'd fall for you too.

This book got me out of my reading slump. TYSM!

It's my second all male POV that's I've read ever (first being Tangled by Emma Chase). And I've gotta say, I loved to be in this guys head.
Usually male POVs are so sex based and crude and vulgar that reading becomes a snooze. This book showed me that there are unicorns out there where guys also care and have actual brain cells to think about things other than sex all the time. It's so wholesome ; it's got family time, personal time, friends time, colleagues time, work time and ofcourse romance time.

It's a breath of fresh air and I don't know why I haven't read it before.

I just wished the story could show more development of the romance and more buildup. But it wasn't anything too bad.

Pick this up if you love cars (or don't, doesn't exactly matter THAT much), love a little bit of angst, enjoy a enemies to lovers romance and are looking for a light , refreshing read!

Hensley and Max's relationship, from ennemies to lovers, was a great mix of slow burn and to the point. I liked seeing more of every single relationship in the gang and I can't wait to read about Patrick and Mia.

Max is a genius with cars. He restores, rebuilds, upgrades, and turns vehicles into badass machines. Years ago, Henley worked for him. After a mistake lead to a fight and her being fired, she was determined to outstrip his prowess and show him that he made a huge mistake.
As they find themselves required to work together on a build, the old sparks and anger reignite.
I love Lauren Blakely's style of wit and brashness. I love the banter and how the couple might have a few setbacks but the drama is not ridiculously over the top.
Although I liked Max and Henley, they are not my favorite couple in this series. I love seeing the other couples from previous books.

I got this book by subscribing to Lauren Blakely's page for FREE.

It was hot, full of innuendos and very funny. I liked how the heroine was working as a mechanic and I loved the chemistry between the characters.

4 stars.

This was an enjoyable, fun, lighthearted story. That was extremely easy to read, drew me in from the start and kept me completely engaged throughout. As for the two main characters Max and Henley, I loved them both. They had bags of chemistry, shared a few hot moments and plenty of flirty banter. Which was so much fun to read and anyone who is a fan of this author will enjoy this story too.
