Dare I say, Sally Hepworth is better than Liane Moriarty?

It was interesting but what the fuck. Barb is a child kidnapper and Essie still wants her in her life?

The multiple POVs weren’t necessary. It could’ve been two separate books

I really enjoyed how each chapter is fairly short and based around an individual character. There were several twists but nothing too outrageous.

This book had a nice plot with a turn of events, but in a light-hearted mystery way (not a psychological thriller). I loved how the author told three stories of three women’s lives simultaneously. each character had a coming of age moment and the author really guided you through their lives so I came to love all three. If you’re up for an easy and fast read with a slight turn of events this is what I would suggest. I was pleasantly surprised!

This was a quick and easy read that kept me engaged, though I think calling it a “thriller“ is a bit extreme. There is certainly domestic drama between affairs and missing children and illegitimate children, but it’s more like an intense drama than a thriller. I enjoyed the characters and the complexities each one faced with life, family, and children. It’s a group of five women who, although they live close, are all leading different lives and have their own complexities to work through which, ultimately, bring them closer together in the end. The reveal was nicely done and I’m glad there was a heartwarming ending. The story wasn’t overly complicated or intense, but I’m nosy and it kept me invested in the unfolding drama.

Rather boring read till the back 1/3. This one was missing the usual Sally spark that keeps you turning the pages, keeping you up all night. The only thing that kept me going was the ease in the reading, although it was dreadfully dull and over complicated most of the time. If this was my first Sally Hepworth, I'm not sure I would be reading any of her others.
