The weakest installment so far. The characters were very unlikable in this one, and none of the usual charming humour worked for me.
The mystery was also ridiculous, so there was no salvaging this one.

started slow then got a bit unbelievable. Wanted very much to like a series based in small town Quebec, but I find most of the characters annoying

My first Louise penny book and I enjoyed the small town crime story.

Louise Penny never fails. I will say there was a slight hiccup, and the only reason I am giving this a 5 instead of a 4 is because other reviews say my questions will be answered in the next book. There was so much build up in this book and then basically a one page summary that didn’t even resolve anything. Will be diving into the next book soon.
