This was the first book I read by Cora Reilly and I loved it. I loved Cassio and Giulia 's relationship. I did find Giulia to be a little too mature for supposedly being a sheltered 18 year old with no childcare experience, but you need to be willing to suspend some belief when reading a book so I was on board. I kind of wanted the situation with the bodyguard to go on longer because I was interested to see what Giulia was going to do and how far Cassio was going to allow the situation to escalate.

Going into this book, I knew there would be an age gap, but I didn’t love the amount of years and how old Giulia was at the beginning. Other than this, I thought this was a quick read that had great relationships with the kids and pretty good world building. I obviously hated the twist, which was horrifying, but felt like it set up Cassio for happiness with Giulia.
