fun and different from other fairytale retellings

I will admit the first couple of chapters almost lost me, it was a bumpy start but I ended up really liking it. It was fun and different and I do really like some of the characters, especially Reds friends. I appreciate the happy ending and will probably read at least Goldie and Cinders books. Not love, but solid like.

This book exceeded my expectations!!

This book is very loosely based on Little Red Riding Hood. Grandma, Red, and the Wolf are all big parts of the story. But the twist on each character and how it all pulled together is so perfect! Not only do I enjoy that Red is a spitfire and doesn’t take anyone’s shit, but the wolf constantly pushes her buttons just to find her limits.

The story was sneaky.. you knew both sides but I found myself loving Red’s side more than the Wolf’s. And his odd protectiveness of her is icing on the cake. Red has had a hard life growing up but it has only made her stronger, and she defends all that are hers. Family and friends.

This book also has surprise characters pop in from other fairytales. I totally would read the books based off of her friends as well.. just saying.. lol

This is a highly recommended read to readers who enjoy books based off of fairytales. I wouldn’t call it Dark Romance.. but it’s close.

OK I am usually very stingy with my 5 stars but this one just did it for me.

I have read several fairytale retellings and with each one, I am hesitant to read them though I like them because I figure we will have some duds with it being a popular genre. On top of that Red Riding Hood is never a favorite for me so, I am even more hesitant to read those retellings. However, this one is my favorite Red Riding Hood/Big Bad Wolf to date!

We had a hot and heavy schmecksy scene before you are 10% in and yes, that seems rushed but I think it fits with the story.

I think Roberds did a great job with the story line and the world she has for her retellings is a new one for me and I liked it! Can't wait for the next book!

I thought this was a very fun reimagining of a classic. I enjoyed it more than I was expecting to and I’ll be reading the sequels

Loved this so much more than I was expecting! The magic system was fun and really excited to read the rest of the series.
