I enjoyed this! Great setting and characters. Loved the nod to Tamora Pierce and Ben and Alexei reading Alanna together. Sometimes romance doesn’t make a good case for the characters being together but they had so much chemistry.

I struggled with the pacing. The  timeline would go from daily hike updates in one chapter to one month later in the next chapter. The three parts were very different lengths.

This is the second book I've read by this author and yet again am just blown away by the passion, joy, and heart she brings to these characters. Lex and Ben are so cute together and just so much of a joy to read about. Highly recommend.

A wholesome lovely read with two cinnamon roll characters we should protect at all cost

Normally I get bored with books like this because I don’t usually like when two characters both like each other right away, but this book had enough emotions to make up for the lack of angst

This book was so much more than I was expecting. There were so many moments that were wonderful and lovely. I wrote down so many quotes. There were so many moments where Alexei had thoughts or said things that felt very relatable to me, and it was so validating reading those.
But mostly, as someone who enjoys hiking, it was so much fun to read a romance novel with hiking involved! I had no idea that this kind of novel exists. And the fact that these characters were at crossroads in their lives and had turned to hiking was so striking to me. I would definitely recommend this book to other people for a queer romance! But I will include the warning that this made me want to go on a hike, and especially to go to Crater Lake in Oregon - something I might actually try to do!

Okay officially love this author so much. Love and other disasters was amazing and how happy was I to see the characters again?. So. Happy. But really Ben and Alexei stole my heart. Not only did I read this in a day, but it made me cry. I can’t remember the last time a book made me cry. There is a trigger warning about being cut off from family and I knew it was coming but it still hit me hard. Found family means everything to me and the way this book validated that for me was beautiful. I had a hard time with the PCT trail and that they kept leaving it 😅 but that’s my own perfectionism I know. You won’t catch me on there. But this love story is achingly beautiful and relevant and I think everyone should read it. There’s also just enough smut to keep me happy.
