A very satisfying ending to a wonderful trilogy.
One downside with these books is I feel Bex doesn't much describe the characters, and I would LOVE to have a more clear picture of then all in my mind! She more then makes up for it however with the brilliant creatures, animals and magically unique islands that come to life throughout this trilogy.

I knew that this book would send me on a rollercoaster of emotions and it did. I laughed, I cried and I felt content. It was heartbreakingly beautiful and this series is one of my all time favourites. It is one I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Being the final book in a trilogy I feel like there is always so much pressure to get it perfect but Bex Hogan nailed it on the head and whilst I'm so sad that the series is over, I am so happy to have gone on this adventure with these characters. I ended up devouring this book in just over 4 hours! This book was perfect in every way. From the plot, the character development and the twists and turns, this book was everything I needed and more.

Marianne has grown so much as a character and I loved going on her journey with her. I laughed when she laughed, I cried when she cried and I became so attached to her that I could read another whole series with just her.

I could go on and on about this book and series but I don't want to spoil anything so go read it! Bex Hogan is one of my all time favourite authors! She's so lovely and sweet, not to mention her writing is just beautiful and mesmerising. I cannot wait to see what she writes next!

I'm a little disappointed with this final book. It felt SO rushed and tried to cram in as many action scenes and shocking moments as possible. I was left wanting some calmer scenes where I could get some connection with the characters.
In the first book I found it brave that Bex Hogan wasn't afraid to kill off main or loved characters. It was taken WAY too far in this book and just created more of a disconnect for me rather than evoking emotion.
The battle scenes, especially at the end were really lacking any atmosphere and tension for me. My favourite fights were those at sea as I think the weather and water added more excitement and tension.
I also felt that not enough time was taken for after the final battle. The end came too quickly and I would have liked to have seen their lives afterwards rather than just be told about what was going to happen. I felt a little cheated!
Overall, I really liked the characters but sadly wasn't given enough time with them so I didn't feel overly connected to them. Marianne, the lead female annoyed me in this book. I thought her actions were quite naive and felt her character had regressed rather than grown.

My favourite aspects were the quieter scenes but these were so short and few in number. I also loved the magical creatures such as the snow mares, water horses, sea creatures and the wonderful vulture Talon who I adored.

Overall a good series (I Gave the first 2 books 4 stars) but I found this book really let the others down.

A decent end to the trilogy. Threads were tied up, things which had happened in book 2 were revisited and given a point in terms of why they had been included, which I had hoped for in my review of book 2.
Once again (as with the other 2) the pacing is very fast, which made it easy to read and keep reading, but didn't leave much time for things to have an emotional impact, on the reader or really on the characters. Something horrific would happen, the characters would scream/cry, and then the next chapter they'd be doing something else.

Omfg.
If you're reading this and you like YA fantasy, PLEASE read this series. It's the best YA series I think I've ever read. Its technically not out in Canada yet but you can preorder for when the trilogy is released here in June!
