Worldbuilding and writing were great. Plot was boring and badly paced.

3.5 stars, an entertaining YA-ish book about uprisings and dystopia. a bit predictable but also sometimes very surprising, overall enjoyed

The book starts out introducing too many characters at once for literally no reason. I had issues staying on track reading this book. There was a lot of useless information that was put in there it felt as just filler to make a page count. I only finished this book because of I didn’t want to miss out on finding out the ending and what lead to getting there. I really do not recommend. The acknowledgments state Veronica Roth wrote this book during the pandemic. I would’ve thought she would have more time to thoughtfully write a book but nope. I was surprised at how terrible this book was compared to the Divergent series. I also want to mention this book is in third person point of view which I did not like at all.
