The art is pretty, but the writing felt very choppy. I was able to understand most of what was going on in the first few chapters because I've read the first few chapters of the novel, but once I got past the same point in the comic I was kind of lost and everything felt very flat, like I was missing a whole lot of context.

I love the art style for this comic adaptation. I think if fits the story’s vibes and is accurate in the portrayal of each of the characters.

The story and its pacing were easy enough to follow. If you have not read the original novels, then it might take a bit to grasp what’s going on, but there are footnotes throughout the comic that point out details and terms that are important to the story and particular to this genre.

My only qualm was how this first volume ended. It felt very abrupt  and it left me wishing I had picked up the second volume along with the first.

This was an interesting start, I like Wei Wuxian he funny asl. However, idk if it's the prose or the translation but how the sentences are written is hard to read.

I love MDZS so much! The art for the Manhua is very cute, I find myself just wanting to stare at the characters forever. There are some minor differences between this version and the novel version but nothing important. My major complaint is the chapter breaks don't quite fit. They happen too frequently and it makes the story feel a bit choppy.

I initially tried to read a sample of the novel version of this series, but after not being able to visualize what was happening, I decided to not officially pick up the series. Then I found out there was a Manhua version and since I still had FOMO over hearing so many good things about this series, I decided to pick up this version, and I have to say this was a really enjoyable first volume! Wei Wuxian is such a funny and lighthearted protagonist considering he’s supposed to be the grandmaster of DEMONIC cultivation. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was wrongfully executed considering everyone seems to be so casually using inventions he presumably created WITH demonic cultivation. IDK seems a little hypocritical if you ask me.
