Who knew Boy Blue had it in him? And The Adversary twist? Loved it.

The reveal of The Adversary is magnificent. I don't think I would've been able to figure that out if I had a thousand tries.

I like the Fables series, but I just can't get hooked enough to fly through these book and when I read them months apart, it really ruins the flow. This one did seem less exciting then the previous few though

I'm beginning to think that the key to any successful graphic novel series is an end date, with 60 issues or so being the sweet spot. Keeping up with this series is begiing to feel more like a chore than a joy.

Yay! My library decided to update its computer system at the end of the year which completely screwed up all my holds so it took me about 2 months to get this. I knew it was when you found out who the adversary is so I have been anxiously awaiting it in the meantime.
I did not guess who it was. But it's an interesting twist and I fall more for this series with every book. I think I will also check out the Jack spin off since his story seemed interesting.

This starts out with more Jack shenanigan's and the story kind of pokes fun at eccentric hollywood directors which is hilarious, but this issue mostly focuses on Boy Blue, and we finally find out who the adversary is and how he came to power.
Honestly, every time I pick this up I expect this to be the issue that is meh and makes me lose interest in the series and it doesn't happen. It feels like it's so much better than it has any right to be. And it's crazy to me that this series is almost 15 years old because it's not super dated despite the fact that it's "modern day."
Apparently (I just read this now) they wrote Jack out of the series in this issue so he could have his own spin off, which is baffling to me because I don't really care about Jack at all, and he's the reason I knocked a star off this issue. But okay, whatever.
