this one is by far the best in the trilogy. excels at everything, from storytelling to katniss’ growth and acceptance of her being a symbol to the revolution. it also captures how a society can be manipulated and subdued with different tactics and tortures.

i didn’t like this one as much as the first purely because i don’t like the love triangle. i understand the symbolism behind it, but i think it sometimes comes at the expense of the character development. because the love triangle took up so much of the first half, it really took me out. that being said the second half definitely redeemed it for me.
