Somebody please tell me why I took so long to read this book?!?

I absolutely loved this story while somehow simultaneously hating it. I want to go in and erase all the bad things and pretend that the 15 years that Matt & Gracie we're apart never happened. I couldn't stomach the things that they endured and won't even begin to imagine the guilt and pain of having to live with the results of a few random decisions and misunderstandings from their past.

The problem is that their situation probably rings more true to life than I ever want to deal with, which is what made this story so good and had me so emotional while reading. I stayed up until 5am to finish this one and have no regrets.

*I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

I am unwell in the best way possible! This was one of the most heartbreaking and heartwarming stories I’ve read. So so good. Also powered through this in a day (shocker) but I just had to find out how it all played out.

I’m gonna cry in the corner over there. One of my favourite books I’ve read this year. I love Matt and Grace so much. I loved everything about this book. From the writing to the plot, romance and everything else.

So good!!! The end had me sobbing I swear. I loved seeing them in college and how they fall in love. Then watching them later on in life. Was so good!!

I really enjoyed this book. I originally read it on my kindle but had to purchase a physical copy to keep. It’s a VERY messy love story spanning across years. With that being said all the relationship/ character flaws felt very realistic. I stayed up all night reading this and I don’t regret it one bit.

I personally thought the flashback section of the book, which set the scene for the characters, was the best part but when the book came back to the present it felt rushed and not fully thought out

before we were strangers is a simple, yet interesting book. if you like colleen hoover, you probably will like this. its a second chance romance which i personally am not a HUGE fan of yet i still enjoyed it. i however don't like books that go between timelines. like one time its in 2021 and the other its 2016 which im not a fan of.
