I'd give it 4 1/2 stars. This was a better than average contemporary family/marriage/friendship story. I liked having chapters from different characters to understand their perspective. The transitions were smooth and not jarring as some are. Each person was well defined with depth and dimension. Although I'm not an actor and can't relate to being on stage or TV it was still interesting. The ending left it open but easy to decide that everything works out (as I like to assume :).

This was a wonderful story. Great character development. Really enjoyed learning details of theater and TV told from the perspective of the actors.

I was pretty disappointed with this book. I just couldn’t get into the story - just seemed like an overly dramatic reconciliation about an affair. I skimmed through various parts. I also found it hard to keep track of stories with how many people are coming and going throughout (but perhaps this is my fault with all the skimming).

Why’d I pick this read? JBH Book Club

So incredibly sad. I also loved that the ending was a little unresolved… it was wrapped up enough to give readers a sense that the book was ending, but not enough that you couldn’t use your imagination to finish the book however you needed in the moment.
