Very very cute. I could tell the intended audience was somewhat younger than me, but ut was still really fun to listen to!

This was a sweet holiday-themed dislike-to-love romance featuring a Jewish MC and LI. It’s also set in an independent book store, and I really liked the presentation of wholesome character dynamics and banter and the wonders of working at a bookstore alongside the pitfalls of retail jobs and the threat to indie stores. Silverman yet again writes in a diverse cast of characters with sensitivity and care, which I greatly appreciated. The themes of faith, family, tradition, friendship, culture, and coming-of-age were well-balanced for such a short, lighthearted read. The narration was funny and watching Shoshanna muddle through life was so endearing.Â

Minor warning for ableism, is a plot point and in context with the story, sensitively dealt with.whatcaitreads's review against another edition

A diverse cast of characters, Hanukkah and Christmas celebrations, and a bookstore I desperately want to visit? Sign me up! This book was the perfect book-themed holiday read and exactly the vibe I need to close out my reading for 2020. The book has only further convinced me to open an independent book store and fill it with delightful and charming employees.Â
