I enjoyed most of this book, although I did find it a little long, even though he ran 50 marathons in 50 days. I enjoyed his antidotes about the runs more than his advice about running. It certainly motivated me to run though, and that's what I needed. Yes, he's a little cocky but he kind of tries not to be.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!

Then again, I haven't not loved anything by or about Dean. :) This book was fantastic - full of quotable quotes, delightful anecdotes, and even great training tips.

For the most part, Dean does a great job telling the story of his 50 marathons and weaving his background into the book. Where I think the book really fails his random bits of elementary running advice. If you are to run seriously and don't know much of this information I hope the reader also is part of a club, reading a more detailed book than the small bits of random but basic information that Dean provides in this book.

He's a runner, not a writer, but ultra-athletes fascinate me anyway. And also, this is off the subject, he eats Paleo and not to be too crabby or anything, but I am so sick of hearing about it. I know it's all the rage but man, that is alot of meat! And fat! I think I have an anti-Paleo bias that I just can't get past. Whatever.

I am probably giving this 1 extra star because of how much I like Dean, but I really enjoyed this book. The story of the 50 marathons in 50 days is very inspirational in itself and then he throws in lots of running advice as well. I learned a lot of new things that I want to try.

As much as I liked the book though, the movie is even better.

As a casual runner, I loved this book. Some parts were a little dry for me, but still very informative. I enjoyed how he mixed useful running information in with his stories of what happened on the road. I would recommend this one--motivated me to go out and run more!

Wow! What a story! Takes awhile to get going, but is very inspirational! Motivated me to run 15 miles the other weekend in a truly Dean-inspired runabout and now I love them!
