This book was painful to read and if it had been any longer than 201 pages I wouldn’t have finished. The plot is unbelievable, the characters are flat, and the prose borders on embarrassing in its inauthenticity.

This story flows so smoothly. It is a story that speaks to complexities of life, our histories, the pains, to justice and healing.. It is a hero and story that we need ...

Tense, very fast read, that leaves more  questions than answers with the reader.  It's a tough read but I really enjoyed the complexity of the characters.

A little on the dark side, but not in a negative way. It is a well written account of a person struggling to find balance between doing what is right, and find justice. The ending makes me hopeful this will be Book 1, and a follow up is in the works.

I really wanted to like this book but I have no idea what happened. It lost me. I didn’t like how the sister didn’t even try to look for her twin. This book is a mess.

The early chapters were so beautifully written describing Wren’s bright light and family, Lord’s upbringing and point of view. They felt like promises for later in the story but the impetus of the book changed once Wren’s escapades truly began. The story is an important one but that disconnect along with the horrid dialogue detracted from the quality.

This book was really interesting, but also very heavy. It took me a while even though it is not very big just because the subject matter and language can be a little dense. The story, and Wren, we’re compelling and intriguing, but also very dark
