Pretty informative, but somehow feels outdated.
I've learned a lot from this book. I can see why a lot of modern race advice/programs are at least partly based on the knowledge coming from it. The many tables are helpful too.
But I can't help thinking it's written for college athletes almost exclusively, AND the book almost entirely ignores more "modern" wisdom based on heart rate, heart rate variation, lactate threshold, etc. It has equivalents, but using its own terminology that is difficult to follow sometimes.
I'm a beginner, of course, so take what I say with a grain of salt. But I still think the book is a bit of an artifact of its time: when measuring heart rate was difficult and uncommon, and when there was less understanding of the internal mechanics of running in the body.

Good book for specific people. I am not falling into that category, but might be in the future.

4,5 estrelas.
