I love this series. This one was a little slow to get off the ground, and ended a bit abruptly. But in between was nostalgic and full of the characters we love from the first book, with some new characters and new cupboard magic, to keep it from being simply a repetition of the first book.

Wonderful second installment! While initially I took issue with Omri abandoning his thoughtful nature and bringing whatever crew he needed to life in order to fight the skin heads, I realize now that it is a great sub-plot which helps to illustrate how he would go along with the "now-guns" plan as as he is able to empathize so easily with Little Bear and his plight.

Oh my goodness! I am not sure that I can properly wrap this up quickly! I absolutely LOVED this book! I will be sharing this one with my boys as we move back into our nighttime reading before bed.

Omri has brought his friend Little Bear back in his magic cupboard, and it seems it was just in time! Little Bear was injured in the fighting that was raging in his village. But the adventures are just starting there. As the adventure moves on, the boys attempt to help their friend protect his village. Little Bear has returned as the new Chief, since his father has passed. But the adventures are going to keep on coming in this read! **No spoilers here**

I remember listening to this book so many times on audio as a kid that I can still hear the narrator's voice in my head. I actually really enjoy this sequel, it introduces some fun new characters and has the added intrigue of Omri and Patrick going back in time.

This book did got better and a bit serious.
Omari seem to have grown and understand the consequences of his or anybody's action that will effect the other party and history and the past as we know it.
And ofcourse we have Patrick who still has not grown a brain yet. It's common to have character whose stupidity baffles you.Characters like these were essential part of the book in those time because their absurd action makes the main character to stand out and take better decisions, which turns the main character as the hero at the end. But this won't stop the annoyance Patrick's actions cause.

Ofcourse little bear is demanding as usual, the cowboy seem to have grown and come out of his shell.

The book did become more serious since it show the realisim and the impact of having a magical cupboard that brings human from old era in modern time and switiching back and forth and using modern times tactics which effect the history.

But it seems that with every book the audience/reader need to grow since the book seems to getting a bit mature like killing and bloodshed is clearly there from pretty much early on in the book.

Certainly for adults it will be good read but as for children it's best for older ones who are a bit mature and understand the content they are reading. It's certainly not a book for children but rather preteens and teens due to content and the language used.

All in all this is a great book in taking up a childish plot and how the idea transforms into realistic situation that can happen if the cupboard is actullay there which brings back real people.

A highly recommended read especially for readers who like to indulge in like this type of children's books for once in a while.

I liked it. They bring back Little Bear and Boone cause Patrick came on a vacation from his new house. They lose the key and Little Bear got really hurt and they couldn't get anybody to help him and they needed to save Little Bear. My favorite part was burglars were coming to their house and he shot the burglars with teeny guns and it was really funny.

I loved the Indian in the Cupboard books as a kid, and as an adult they do not disappoint. Return of the Indian has some good lessons in it too. Omri, the boy with the cupboard, give in to temptation to use the cupboard again. He meddles where he shouldn’t and has to deal with the consequences. Through that he grows up a little, finds that plans must be thought out carefully and learns to stand up for himself.
