This was the first book I read of hers, and I had lots of laugh out loud moments. I'll be reading more.

Two things I learned while reading this book: #1 - Jen Lancaster's books are much better in actual old school book style due to the footnotes, which are impossible to deal with in e-book format. #2 - Jen does better with a strong "theme" to stick with, like losing weight, job hunting or being more cultured. This book seemed to ramble, and when Jen rambles, her narcissistic side becomes pretty unbearable. Still made me laugh and I'll still pickup more books, but I'm glad she seems to be choosing to write to themes with her future books.

I just *love* Jen Lancaster! She is the foul-mouthed version of ME! I love how she has no shame when it comes to sharing all her life stories. Another must-read!

I came looking for a delightful trashy read, but this was next level. This book lacked a plot and tried to make up for it with copious amounts of footnotes. Moreover, Jen is the only fully developed character in the entire book. I don’t normally write extensive reviews, but halfway through I started thinking about the horrible things I’d like to say in a review. The icing on the cake for me is that she regularly judges people in ways that make my skin crawl. Anyone who is a person of color is boldly classified as an “immigrant.” She definitely goes on in an extended metaphor about how another person of color is a monkey, and of course, there’s a bit about middle eastern men all being terrorists, too. She acts like she knows these assumptions are not okay, but they reoccur time and again throughout the book. It was self-indulgent at best. /endrant

As always, Jen Lancaster is hilarious! I love reading her books when I want something a little silly to get me through the week or I need help winding down after a hard day. I can't wait to read her other books and keep laughing!
