Very very wholesome book
I absolutely adored the characters. The fantasy part was a bit lame but cute either way. If you’re looking for a light and wholesome read with adorable romance, don’t hesitate and go read this book

This is a cute YA queer fantasy romance. Bridger lands a strange job that introduces him to the world of real-life myths, and later that day his hot new neighbor starts flirting with him. Bridger has to juggle a budding relationship, coming out, and his supernatural job. The romance was fun, and although the tension at the climax felt a bit forced, the story had a few surprises. I also enjoyed Bridger's quirky POV narration.

So far I’ve read about half of ft lukens’s books and the results are mixed. I think this book is really meant for teenagers but i struggled to get through it in the middle, and the end was really rushed. I didn’t like the protagonist for most of the book either. I kinda felt like a deflated balloon at the end. The love interest has no flaws and honestly not a lot of personality. I would have given it a 3/5 if the ending didn’t frustrate me so much. Also it’s unrealistic that the main character’s fear of coming out was entirely in his head. Spell Bound has a lot of similarities in concept but is honestly much better executed. FT Lukens has really grown as a writer.

This was such a fun, adorable read! Bridger applies to a Craiglist ad job in hopes of saving some money for college in the fall. The job starts with Bridger having to scale a building only to meet a boss covered in acidic slime, and as more and more bizarre things happen he realizes that he's become the assistant to a intermediary between the human world and the world of mythological creatures.

The humor in this was hilarious and slapstick, the character growth was satisfying, and the relationship building was adorable. I really enjoyed this book!
