This series continues to be great fun. It has a little too much adventure for me in this installment, and too much annoying overbearing family, which put a damper on my enjoyment, but otherwise I was once again well entertained.

I should've stopped with the third book. This was one major let down that after half way through the book and it not getting anywhere and the premise of the subsequent books being not that great either makes me wish I never put myself through the so boring farm life of Katie. So now i'm going to make myself forget that I even read half of this book and sit with blissful ignorance and cry over the ending of the previous book.

It kills me that there is no book 5! So, I looked at the author's website
here:http://www.shannaswendson.com/faq.html
and she says that her publisher will not let her publish book 5 until she
gets more noticed with the first four books. PLEASE read these books!
They are SO fun, and I'm ::dying:: to read book 5! Such fun books,
perfect for summer reading!

Not my favorite in the series, although I enjoyed learning more about Katie's family . Will be glad when we're back in NYC for the next one.

"Hey, do you think anyone will write stories and songs one day about this epic fight of good against evil?" "Not unless you feel like doing it. And it's more like good against annoying, which is less epic."
The so-far final book in the series (which is a huge shame, because there is so much ground that could still be covered) sends Katie Chandler back home to Cobb, TX, where magic is supposed to be non-existent. Of course, Katie seems to draw weirdness and magic wherever she goes, so it should be no surprise that strange magical doings start popping up. When things start to get serious, Owen Palmer, the man she left behind in NY (for his own safety) shows up to sort things out.
Update No longer the final book in the series! There are three more books that Swendson self-published and are available on Amazon.
I still love this series for a fun and light-hearted fantasy read. It isn't overly mopey or portentous, and I wish I was friends with the characters.

This is my least favourite in the series. I just really dislike the setting. This book really lacks the magic of its predecessors.
Additionally, this was the point in the series where I felt that the story was becoming too drawn out. The characters have become stuck and there seems to very little development there at all.

Better with each book
Gone are the skyscrapers of NYC and they are replaced with a town that anyone who grew up in a small one would be familiar with. This book is a lot of fun, with plenty of twists and new characters and a grandma we all wish we had.
The only issue I found was everything was a little too convenient family wise, like the entire clan got a case of the "Mary sue" but it was a fun tale that has me ready to start the other half of this series

Meh. It was okay. This is a super-cozy paranormal romance series. It could totally classify as Juvenile with all the icky sweetness. At times it's been a nice change, but it was a bit too uber-sweet this time. Seriously... there were only 2 kisses in the whole book.
