It's a bummer that I cannot finish this book.

There *might* be some spoilers for folks.

The first half was great, witty and comical. I genuinely laughed out loud in some parts and couldn't put it down. I set it down in the middle of the book when a particular plot point happened between the main characters. It was great. I was at the edge of my seat. However, I am 2/3 of the way through and cannot continue. The tension that had been built up throughout the first half of the book is lost. The plot just drags on and on and on. It's not exciting anymore and frankly, the characters bore me now.

Also, the book cover doesn't capture what this plot includes. I expected a juicier novel. I do not recommend this book to folks that are looking for romance.

(Re-read 2022) It was better the first 2 (3?) times I read it...

Sometimes you just want a sweet, cute, smutty rom-com. This fit the bill.

This is my first romance novel of the year. I can't believe it either! How did I make it this long before craving sugary-sweet, fluffy cotton candy with a love story in the middle instead of a paper tube?!

I checked out an ebook version from my state library on a whim. There’s something so satisfying about clicking that “Borrow” button on my phone and starting to read without further ado. I wanted something light and funny, and I wasn’t disappointed. I don’t know that I found narrator Caroline quite as uproarious as some people have, but I definitely chortled a time or two.

I liked how confident and settled Caroline is in her life as a single person, and the easy camaraderie she shares with her girlfriends. There is a LOT of stalling and delaying when it comes to the “big connection” with her neighbor and love interest Simon, but when it finally does happen, the cake batter really hits the wall (literally).

Overall a fun, occasionally silly but life-affirming escape read. I regret nothing!

My Thoughts

This was an entertaining read. I enjoyed Caroline's story about her moving into a new apartment (still without her "O") and meeting the wallbanging manwhore who lived next door and made one woman literally purr as she climaxed. And, yes, I have a slight crush on Simon the Wallbanger. He just sounds so delicious. :D

There were a few things that irked me with the book which made me knock it down a star. There was a time where Caroline and Simon finally get together and Caroline finally has her "O" back in session, they do it like 6 or 7 times in like a 15 hour time frame. And I don't know about you, but I don't think I'd be able to go that many times. And at this part, I just felt like I was reading the same thing over and over, page after page. So, it actually kind of bored me at a point during the sex scenes here. The second thing that irked me was that the very last chapter was from the cat's POV, and I just found that super weird!

All-in-all, though, I will definitely be continuing on in this series and reading more about Caroline and Simon's adventures together! If you're in the mood for some good ole romance fluff with humor in it, I'd give this one a try! It's definitely entertaining, to say the least!

Forget the terrible name, this book is actually pretty fun and a very fast read. Don't let the name and a few too many internal monologues- this book was a nice way to spend an evening.

I give this book more like 3.5 stars but it was a cute and funny quick read. This book was read for book club and it was a good read for that purpose. The main character got on my nerves but overall she is likeable. I see this book moreike pg14 read in the realm of erotica, like a gateway read. The sex scenes were diplicted well but I felt like I enjoyed the quick wit and humor of the book more than the sex scenes or even the story line.
