2.5 stars.
The rating is purely based on enjoyment.
It was a light fun read.

The characters, their thoughts were all alike. The great complex villains were reduced to petty thieves.

The Isle of Lost only had villains and their offspring. Why there was no bloodshed, no cunning evil power schemes is beyond me.

For some reason I enjoyed it.

Months ago diney channel realise the movie "Descendants" and when that happend they also made a book. The isle of the lost is the book i'm talking about.

I really enjoy to read about the same characters that appear in the movie. I really love Mal, like in the movie I really love how evil she is and I also enjoy to know what she was thinking all the time. I also love Evie, I liked to know more about her life and with the book I could finally do it.
I really enjoy how we can see the friendship between the four descendants, grow up, I thibk that was the best part.

I think is a 7/10 and 4/5 stars

I was surprised with how much I really enjoyed this book. I knew it was meant as more of a middle or high school age book, but I'm kind of a Disney fanatic, so I picked it up and read it anyway. I really loved the kids of the villains. Carlos is my personal favorite. I think of him as kind of a natural gentleman, which is odd on an island full of villains. It made him more unique to me than even the other three, who I still loved as well.

It's an awesome prequel to that Disney Channel movie "Disney Descendants". And yes, I did watch that. I almost wish a book based on the movie would be written. Is that weird? (The book is always better than the movie. At least 99% of the time. The movie gave me a High School Musical meets Fairytales feeling, which is good considering I don't really care for many of the other new shows or movies that sometimes air nowadays.) Anyways, I liked the movie, so I figure I'd probably fall in love with a book that follows the movie, but still fills in so many gaps that you don't even realize you're missing if you just watch the movie.

Really liked it. Will definitely read the second book "Return to the Isle of the Lost". And everybody remember. You're never too old for Disney.

Update:
I just want to clarify that I was not aware a book copying the movie had been written. But based off of some reviews, I won't be reading it. Everybody says it's exactly like the movie, and since I've seen the movie, I don't need to read the book. Also, Melissa, if I'm understanding correctly, didn't write the book based on the movie. So, if I did read a book that was written for the first movie, I would kind of like it to be one that she would write. A few things might change and there might be more details, but that's kind of what I would want if I were going to read it anyway.

Anyways, just wanted to share that. Okay. Bye. :)

I was very excited about this book when I first heard about it. I didn't know that there was going to be a movie too until after I was excited about the book. Then I wondered if the movie was based on the book or vice versa. I saw a bit of the movie but the acting was so bad and the songs so horrible I had to stop. But I was still looking forward to reading the book. I love Disney. I love villains. I'm not at all ashamed to read books geared toward a younger(much younger) audience.

That being said....this book was horrible. I read Melissa De La Cruz's Witches of Eastend series and loved it. But this....hmmm. The names of the kids were so very uncreative. Good flourishes while Evil gets the crap end of everything but makes do. A great many Disney favorites are mentioned but there's never really any substance to the characters. The writing was sloppy too. Perhaps if I was 25 years younger I would have enjoyed it more? I don't know. I just know I was so disappointed with this book. It made my skin crawl. I had to skip a chapter here and there just to get through the book.

A fun read in between some series i was reading. I like the humor in it and it's nice to get a story from an villain's point of view. A bit predictable but i can live with that.

This was a good book. I enjoyed the book and the story of the Disney's villains children. It made you t time root for the bad guy, however you really don't know who the bad guy was if there was a bad guy. I think this was a great lead up to the movie. I really enjoyed this book.

This book was actually really good!
The beginning was a bit confusing but you understand everything by the end.

The first 2/3 of the book is a lot of character development, which I liked. You got to know each character pretty well.

I liked how each one of the four had a "test" to do.

Overall, a very interesting book.

I would have given it four/five stars because I'm a HUGE Disney fan, but there were so many errors as I read through (grammar wise), and the style of De La Cruz's didn't do it for me. I almost get the impression that the book from start to finish was done in a rush...

If you like Disney it's a fun little read, despite the negatives. It is what is-- the fun is all in entering our favourite stories once more, and getting to see the characters in a new way.
