Loved it

Loved this book. Great characters that you just want to find out more about so that it has you on the edge of your seat. With enough steam and action to really get you going. Can't wait to read the next book.

Single POV. A couple are in their early twenties and 2 are older but in a supernatural way. They pretty much all read as early 20s. It’s like a college/academy vibe. There is a plot throughout but there is also a lot of sex (she is a succubus). It is a complete trilogy.

This is the third series I read by Callie Rose. Her books are on the adult side of the adult genre. I liked it, but I thought and continue to think that the sex in her books can sometimes be too frequent and almost cause you to lose sight of the story.

There were parts about this series and book that I loved and parts that I didn't. I've realized that it's very difficult for me to like an academy-based novel. Not sure why. But it's not my favorite trope. Can't blame the author there. I found the characters to be intriguing and certain parts of the world-building to be intriguing. I particularly liked Xero's story.

Intriguing. Could be better written, but enjoyable.

  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? Yes
  • Loveable characters? Yes
  • Diverse cast of characters? No
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

Fun and snarky from start to finish with a fun heroine and sexy men. My only complaint was a lack of class descriptions except combat. But not everyone gets off on that level of fantastical academic detail haha

3 stars because it was "okay."

I mean, the story was okay. The characters were okay. The romance was okay.

Clearly, everything was just okay.

I mean, most of the chapters were "weeks went by" and nothing was really happening. I mean, a reverse harem romance where the guys don't want her because....why? I mean, Jayce wanted her. The other guys didn't want to want her. I will admit the scene with Xero and Jayce was hot as hell and that alone was a single star in my rating lol

But everything just felt flat for a paranormal reverse harem romance. Too much filler and wannabe bully drama without hitting the mark. I don't think I'll continue this series. At least for now.
