Beautiful, heart felt, melodious, the male perspective of the black experience with such vulnerability and accountability. ❤️

This book was uniquely and beautifully written, but the story was boring and lacked appeal. I liked the personal feel presented with the character point of viewed but I struggled staying interested because the story was bland.

Just brilliant! Caleb Azumah Nelson’s ability to pack so much vulnerability and quietness into such simple yet profound musings is mesmerising.

4.5 The language is pure poetry- sensual, elegant, intimate and emotional. A love story which also interweaves pain, systematic racism, fear of communicating feelings. It also highlights the achievements and creativity of black artists- from musicians, authors, painters etc. What else can you give us, Azumah Nelson?

Although beautifully written, I found the writing style difficult to invest in. This took me several committed sessions over a month plus to get through.
