I found Charlotte to be incredibly irritating. If I'm reading about privileged white people I want them to not be so wishy-washy whiny white girls.

I really wanted to love this book but it just wasn’t quite what I was hoping for.

The story was pretty fun, but the characters were all so.. flat in my opinion.

Charlie was so insecure and worried about becoming a spinster. While I definitely related to her in a lot of ways, I feel like I read a book to see someone relatable who overcomes the things they struggle with. But I felt like Charlie just.. stayed stuck.

Liam was too perfect for sure, but I did still like him. Who can resist the sweet and charming attractive man? Not me haha

I felt like the ending/resolution was rushed and there wasn’t a lot of character development to get there.

Vera was the best part of the whole book hands down! She was so funny! Loved her.

I’m interested to try out some of the authors other books!

Another contemporary romance from Kasey Stockton and I am HERE FOR IT! I loved the premise for this story, which is that it’s not a Jane Austen retelling, but draws heavily on her story.

Charlotte “Charlie” Lucas was such a relatable character and she felt very authentic in her journey to find love. Honestly, all of the characters felt very real and reasonable in their reactions to various circumstances. And if you’re like me and love a flirty main man, look no further! Liam was swoony and sweet and so loving of Charlie, even when she was feeling her most insecure. Without spoiling anything, I loved the elements including the world of art, which were very accurate to some of my experiences in a similar field.

This story was all things funny and sweet and heartwarming, and you don't want to miss it!

I received an advanced copy, all thoughts are my own.

This was a charming read, but it fell flat for me in a lot of ways. It kind of felt like it was staying at the same level the whole way through...I wanted more from it. More depth from the story, more depth from Charlie and Liam. It also got slightly repetetive reading Charlie's inner monologue. It just felt like the characters were incredibly one dimensional, and not anything more than their insecurities, in Charlie's case, and their perfections, in Liam's case. It also felt like the plot was slightly tiring...and redundent? I'm finding trouble finding the right word, but I think it could have used something more to bring up the excitement or something that pushed Charlie forward. I, sadly, just kept wanting more from it.

As always, thank you Netgalley and Covenent Communications for the chance to read this in exchange for an honest review!

who needs a personality when you’re hot (which is mentioned at LEAST 200 times) and rich?

God, I just loved this!!! I relate so much to Charlie and it was nice to see someone in my same age range with similar identity and career struggles. Also, I loved how (in a way) Charlotte Lucas had her romance after all.
