The mafia and bratva come to a standoff in this page turner story. Vlad takes the mafia Princess Alessia because of what Junior did. From there everything unfolds and lots is revealed with a surprise or two in the end of it all. It's a fantastic read.

I mean, go ahead and steal the girl to make a point. But then, don't be surprised if you fall in love and actually want to keep her. Despite her own murderous family.

This was not my favorite of the series. It felt very rushed. I want more details and a progression of the story.I am a huge fan and this author I just didn't connect. I'm sure the next one will capture my attention.

I liked this a lot. Well, it's safe to say I like this kind of forced proximity (kidnapping), but I'm glad this wasn't a psychological thriller of sorts and it was truly a romance on it's core. A mafia fairy tale.

The situations weren't very realistic, the bad guy wasn't really a bad guy and the h actions were dubious to say the least. But I like it anyway Lol It was insta-lust and insta-love, but the h put up a fight pretty good and didn't throw her arms around her kidnapper right away, so we get the right amount of sexual tension.

This isn't dark at all, there isn't any non-con or dub-con, or highly morally questionable attitudes but the kidnapping itself. I don't think I'll read all other books in the series since they seem very similar. I only read this one and it can be read as a standalone.

Ohh Benjamin Sands's narration was amazing! I love his voice, it was deep and raspy. He did the female voice amazingly though, it wasn't forced, annoying or anything, just good enough. I will definitely listen to him again.

This story is about the only girl in the Tacone family (whom I absolutely love), Alessia, and Vlad, the man who is going to use her to get the revenge he so desperately yearns for. Vlad is the perfect dark alpha male hero! He is part of the Russian Bratva - cutting in to say that I love all the English pronounced Russian words that are sprinkled throughout - and he has decided he has the perfect plan to make the Tacone brothers pay for the complete annihilation of his cell in Vegas. Alessia is the protected princess of the Tacone family and she is resigned to the life she has been born into even if it isn't everything she wants for herself. Their journey to their HEA isn't going to be an easy one but it is beautiful and tugs at the heart-strings from beginning to end. I have read all the books in this series and I can honestly say that this is my new favorite.

A mafia-bratva collision is almost required in a mafia romance series. This one includes Russian locations making it fun, although the heroine's diabetes issues occasionally veer the story into more soap opera than the 'dark romance' advertised.

Renee Rose writes stories with strong Alpha mafia men who do not hold back on pursuing the women they want. They are ruthless in their acquisition of their woman and will stop at nothing to achieve their goals.
Vlad is a strong Russian Male who decides to seek revenge on the American Italian mafia by taking their sister, the princess of their family. He takes and marries and devours Alessia. And she gets caught up in his pursuit and begins to fall for him.
This story makes the readers fantasies come true.

4.5 stars. I think this series gets better with each book. Vlad's entrance was unexpected. Who would think a member of the Russian mafia could drug and kidnap the sister from the Italian mafia and have a HEA?

Vlad and Alessia seemed to have a special connection from the very beginning, even when she was considered his captive. Alessia had a secret she had not shared with anyone. Vlad had something from his past he needed to handle. Mika needed both Vlad and Alessia.
Alessia and Mika being out a gentler, kinder Vlad that I am not sure he was aware existed.

A fast paced, steamy, romantic read that turned out to be rather sweet and full of surprises.

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I liked it!

What can make a Russian mobster change his was? An Italian princess with an attitude. Alessia has an attitude but she also has issues to boot. But I love how Vlad is enamored with her from the start and he simply likes to take care of her and she finds she likes to be taken care of. Their love didn’t start off right away but developed. I think some of the story could have developed more but still overall I liked it.
