I think this embodied the worst that COVID-19 has brought out in people. And the way people think they know your political beliefs based on whether or not you’re vaccinated or wear a mask. I hate that so much. I wish this would’ve spent less time on that and more time on the romance.

Loved how this read like Fangirl and the info that Cath and Levi have 3 kids and 50 bison. Not a fan of Covid in fiction or real life.

This was such a lovely short and sweet story featured during the Pandemic we have all been facing these past years. Rowell has managed to capture the genuine fear people felt during the beginning of COVID and how our whole worlds became isolated.

Reagan was used to keeping to herself and found adjusting to the pandemic easy. However, without realising she craved social interaction even if it was from the boy next door. Spending Christmas with her Grandfather after the passing of her Grandmother was her way of finding some kind of normalcy. Yet it is what happens on the back porch of her Grandfathers home that changes her perspective.

I enjoyed this book, it was short and sweet, but there were some instances that really made me question some things. If you were that scared of COVID would you really put yourself in some of the positions Reagan does? Just a question but, if you’ve read this book I’m sure you understand what I mean. I would definitely like to read more of Rainbow Rowell’s books in the future but the books I have read by her haven’t always made up to the expectations of others.

This short story follows Reagan, the grumpy roommate from fangirl, and her grandfather's neighbor Mason on two Christmas interactions. Be warned, this boom is set primarily in 2020 and there is a lot of talk about the pandemic. I guess I've finally reached a place where I can read about that time without feeling anxious. I definitely remember feeling exactly how these characters felt, and being mostly on the other side it doesn't feel real. I can't say too much about the story since it's so brief, but it was decent. I would have liked a bit more build up, but it was ok.

Super nostalgic. I’ve been reading Rainbow since I was tiiiiiiny and although it does read like a fanfic it is really nice to reflect on my past favourites. I loved Reagan in Fangirl, and often go back to reread the original book; this just felt like a ‘nice’ enough counterpart.
