I debated whether to give this 4 or 5 stars, bc I feel a little odd giving a thriller/suspense 5 stars, since it's not a "huge classic work of art," but this book was really good. And it's MY review, so I'm going with 5 stars.

Will Robie is an assassin for the U.S. government, and a pretty successful one, up until he gets a job that he can't complete. As he realizes people are out to get him, he crosses paths with a tough teenager who ties into the overall situation. Used to working by himself, having someone else for whom he's responsible completely throws him off emotionally.

Great twists and turns as Robie navigates the emotional world he usually shuts off to do his work and tries to figure out how all the pieces fit together. The twist at the end was shocking (even though I figured it out in the previous chapter).

I liked this character much better than Baldacci's other new one (Puller) - Robie seems more unique and more conflicted, just a more interesting person all around.

Great Baldacci book.

Fun story and Robbie is a good character, but I had to remove one start because it wrapped up too quickly for me. The book is 420 pages, about the climax and resolution are all within the last 15.

Oh my gosh! Where do I start?! I was in a slump & this was the perfect book to read at this time to pull me out! It was action-packed & non-stop.
Will Robie is a professional hitman & has just ran into a rather difficult assignment. He finds himself in a bad situation when he can’t complete the job because his feelings get the best of him. He crosses paths with runaway teen, Julie, & it seems as though someone is after her as well. Coincidence? The hits just keep on coming in this thrilling adventure! I really liked Robie. He was a very neat character.
There were some twists & turns. I had a hunch about mid Book, and I ended up being partially right. It was fast paced & a page turner all the way to the end!

A little predictable in parts, but still good. Also it isn't too similar to The Professional like I was afraid it would be.

This book was a fast paced thriller. I liked Baldacci's character in Will Robie, but it was tough, young teenage Julie Getty that captured my attention and was the perfect sidekick for Robie. I wasn't certain that I would enjoy a book that revolved around a paid assassin, but the storyline worked with only a few cringeworthy moments. It kept my attention from start to finish.
