AHHH! It's so cuuute!! The humor isn't flat, the story flows nicely, the characters are great, and the plot, no matter how foolish, works very well for the story and characters.

Definitely a reread!

Started off strong and it had some good moments, but it dragged.

Very cute. Gave me mad Tales from Verania vibes.

However, there were a couple problems. One, I thought the resolution was too quick and easy. Toppling a kingdom? In like 20 pages?
Also, I think that Quinn and Loth moved from stranger to married in wayyyy too short a time span. But also, that’s just romance books in general.

Having a really difficult time getting into this one. The protagonist in the beginning is downright awful, and I'm just not sure that I can get behind a character like that. I'll try again sometime soon; it could have just been my headspace.

DNF at 27% mark of the audiobook

I don't mind the "this is just D&D" genre of fantasy. But this one is just too much on the nose. Had to stop after a character literally said "roll for initiative."

The humor is crude and repetitive. None of the characters are likeable and most of them are pretty stupid to the point of annoyance, not humor.

I'm sure this is for someone, but its not me.

4 stars just because it was soooo fast, but overall it was all so cute and fluffy and I really enjoyed it :D

Pretty funny and cute. Some of the recurring jokes got old by the end, some were still pretty fun. The dynamic between the couple at the start was great.
Spoiler I would have liked for Scott to redeem himself but, oh well.

4.5 stars. An excellent spoof of the typical adventure story. Like a Dungeons and Dragons campaign full of interesting characters that the players don't take seriously. I agree with one of the other reviews that I wish there had been a bit more to the romance, but it's so well written that I thoroughly enjoyed it for what it is.
