I enjoyed this!! Loved the characters and back in this timeline as the infernal devices was my favourite and i’m obsessed with Will and i’m sure I will be obsessed with James as well. It was very short though so although things happened , not enough for me to give it a full five stars.

Yeeesss, give me that shadowhunter angst, I’m here for it!!!!

That ending was PAINFUL, but I am so excited to read TLH eventually! Parabatai pain, it’s my thing.

"I thought I would walk with you a little way my parabatai."
How far? asked Jem.
Will smiled. "Need you ask? I will go with you as far as I possibly may."

I swear Will and Jem are still my favorite parabatai pairing in this entire series. This whole scene just made me remember how much Infernal Devices WRECKED me at the end.

Any novella involving Jem or Will or Tessa is always pure gold.

Cassandra Clare is very talented for making her characters internally tortured and this hasn’t failed with Matthew Fairchild. I can’t wait to see more of him in The Last Hours.
I enjoyed this short story, though the next ones are better in my opinion.

This story was so good! I'm so sad for Matthew but I can't wait to read the last hours!

I guess this short story is a way to be prepared for Chain of Gold, so we can familiarize ourselves with all the names of the children that will probably be the main characters.
But also, poor Matthew! My heart is broken.
Spoiler(we will have a Will Herondale once again in our hands, but this time with a way worse burden to bear)
.

This was truly unexpected. I do not know any English word that can describe what I felt when Matthew's sin is. It introduced us to The Last Hours, which I now can't wait to have in my hands. 5 stars because I truly didn't see that coming. I really really liked this one.

Besides the "Who? Who? Who?" going through my head trying to figure out who each person is the child of, it was a really well written, sad short story.
