Like the first Halifax Hellion's novella this one sucked me in immediately and I could not put it down. Matilda and Christian have incredible chemistry and I loved how they provoked each other. I was also very impressed by the fact that while we were familiar with some of the events of Matilda's story from Margo's they appear very different from Matilda's perspective. It takes a talented writer to be able to get into their characters heads enough to achieve that. I loved that Matilda while so different from Margo while still being a rule breaker in her own way. I also had a lot of fun with the double meaning of the title (I'm assuming or maybe I just have a dirty mind) and also the hero's name. I also loved that Matilda used her experience as a Halifax hellion to help Bea. Finally, I would like to suggest that one bed because the cat destroyed the other one is now a trope and everyone should use it!

Every historical romance is automatically improved by the addition of a cat.

Somehow this was even better than the first novella. I will definitely read anything by Alexandra Vasti, especially looking forward to her full length novel!

I’m continually blown away by Alexandra’s talent and now that I’ve finished both of her available works I don’t know what to do with myself

I can't get over how much I've liked these short connected novels by Alexandra Vasti - this was a lovely little story, and my only quibble is that the ending felt abrupt.
