I had heard lots about this series and after reading the first volume I’m happy I finally picked it up. A great graphic novel and I’m interested to see where it goes in future volumes.

I heard about this series through a friend whose taste is impeccable. Also the plot was totally up my alley: an epic space adventure about star-crossed lovers that's also about parenthood? I'm sold. The characters and worlds are wonderfully creative, vivid and interesting both in terms of the way they are drawn and the way they are written. There are freelance bounty hunters that are always known as The [Blank], royalty with old-school CRT monitors for heads, a Lying Cat, spaceship trees, ghost babysitters, and lots more fun and interesting things. Of course as with many graphic novels, it's got its share of nudity and violence, but as someone who grew up reading manga and watching anime, it doesn't feel over the top or gratuitous.

Bought this comic at the clearance sale from the bookstore where I one worked. I bought this as many other books, on a whim, just to find out it it would live up to the hype I've seen around Goodreads and even on the booktube clique on YouTube.

Just to let it be clear: this comic lives up to the hype in every way.

It's a compelling start to a series which offers an interesting universe filled with all sorts of creatures from a whole range of cultures. The protagonists seem well set up, and in spite of recurring to oft-repeated literary tropes, manage to create a harmonious dynamic. The art in the comic is very compelling in spite of leaning towards some slight minimalism in backgrounds and color schemes, but manages a great style. The narrative pace is impeccable and I very much enjoyed having Hazel's narration frame each chapter or segment.

Highly recommended, and I very much wish to have read the next installment in the series.

This series was my brother's answer to the question: what gateway book with good storytelling and illustrations can you recommend to someone who thinks they don't like comics. He was right.
I'm was immediately captivated by the worlds the author and artist created together. Warning: the graphic gore and guts make this a work for mature audiences.

Okay so, I'm really on the fence which is why I chose to go with two stars. I really loved that it was so different and I think with more the world building would all make sense, but this isn't my kind of story I don't think which is why I won't continue. The graphics were absolutely beautiful by the way! But I think my slight dislike for the characters worked against me loving it. But I can definitely see why people love it

Interesting concept for a graphic novel, haven't read many graphic novels that weren't about super heroes or villians. Characters were wonderful, especially Alana. Can't wait to read more!

Reason for Reading: This is another graphic novel my co-worker recommended since I'm in a bit of a book slump.

Now this is definitely a story I can get into! There is a lot of action in this graphic novel that had me flipping pages so fast I didn't realize I got to the end. The characters are all unique from each other. I'm a fan of Izabela, and I hope I'll be seeing more of her in this series.

On Tumblr, someone had posted a scene with the "lying cat", and I thought it was an interesting concept, a cat that will tell you when someone is lying. I didn't realize the cat was from this series.

Anywho, great plotline. I'm interested in seeing what happens to this couple. I'm interested in the TV prince, The Will and his cat. I want to know if the newborn daughter, how will life be for her? Will this family be able to find peace in a war filled galaxy?

The artwork is nice as well. Comparing this to the last graphic novel I read, I prefer this art style tenfold.

Any Adventurers who read my review and want to read this, I do want to warn that this graphic novel is not for children. There are graphic scenes including nudity.
