What a slow burn,
it took them over 100 pages to actually meet!
But I did enjoy the slow-burn and how sweet and thoughtful Leon was, not rushing into it.

It was interesting to see the whole Justin thing progress as she started seeing the emotional abuse he inflicted for what it was, as she went on her healing journey!

All the x’s (kisses) after the messages they’d write for each other was so cringe but it’s British so whatever, it’s expected.

I adore this book. Leon and Tiffy are such well defined characters in and of themselves. I really love that they have lives and passions and motives outside of the blooming romance. It makes it feel so much more grounded.

The tropes are silly and fun. Yes, they were a bit cliche but with these characters, it didn’t feel cliche. It felt more real and feasible.

I know a lot of people were turned off by Leon’s POV but I actually really loved it. It gave a strong sense of his character right from the start but I get why it’s not for everyone.

Another fun in concept, poor in execution sort of book for me. This writing style wasn't my favorite, and listening to the audio book only made it worse.

Leon's chapters were notably less enjoyable because of his pronoun dropped speech.

I think my biggest issue was that I found a lot of the characters to be cringe. I also don't enjoy tv/music references in my books, and this has a lot of that.

Also, I found the third act to be really weird. The whole novel, Tiffy's friends are identifying Justin as an emotional abuser - but then Gertie and Leon immediately take the side of said abuser without question? They know he's a Grade A manipulator and gaslighter. They didn't even consider looking at Tiffy or her reaction to the spectacle. It just seemed out of character from my perspective.

I knew pretty quickly I wasn't likely to enjoy this book, buuuuut I liked the flatshare concept and had a long enough drive that I finished it.

Read this all in one day, and wept like a baby at the end. So tender, so sweet, and such a thoughtful portrayal of what Leon calls a “post-trauma situation”. I really don’t ever read romance but damn, if they’re all like this I could be so interested

Romances often have these subplots that you can see coming from a mile away, but the Flatshare does it in a really nice way, the surrounding supporting characters are actually really enjoyable as well as their relationships with the mmc / fmc. This novel does a good job at having a very sweet, touching (and kind of slow burn) romance between its main characters whilst also addressing pretty dark themes (abuse, manipulation). It was a very light-hearted read that I'm really glad I picked up!
the whole plot and romance of this book being created throughout post it notes that turn into love letters was the best thing to come out of this book

I loved this book, I raced through it I was so interested! I usually dislike contemporary romance but every now and again  I find a good one. This is that. A unique and interesting plot line with fun characters
Would recommend!
