My god, what a gift. Not just that she had a gift, that's true, but this diary is such a gift to us all. Tracing her life, being witness to her thoughts, doubts, depression, triumphs. Seeing how her process grew and developed from book to book, and sneaking peeks at the relationships she had with other writers and artists. All of this wrapped up in the outbreak of World War II, which impacted her directly. Such an unbelievable gift. Woolf had a mind like no other, a talent like no other. Reading the last entry and knowing it was written just 20 days before she commuted suicide.... my goodness. I'm rambling, I know it, but I'm that overwhelmed.

Very useful if you are aiming to read all of Woolf’s novels. Also, it was interesting to read as England entered WWII and how it affected Woolf’s daily routines and her state of mind.
