Just my kind of book - a romantic chick lit, that includes quite some four legged characters, which I really love. An easy to read chick lit, with quite some giggling moments, that entertained me the whole book through.

My fave from IW so far.
The suspense was a bit tiresome: when do we get to know Miranda's secret, and when will she tell David?
The dogs were put more into central place than necessary, so this book is for dog-lovers only!

I didn't expect this book to be as ... dark ... as it was, based on the cover and description. Still a love story, of course, but it also had bombs and muggings and things of that sort. I did want to keep reading as soon as I started it. The author does something where she takes her time revealing things. Like "this really bad thing happened 16 years ago but the character still isn't ready to talk about it" or "my mom has a really crazy idea about llamas but it's too crazy to even say right now." Sometimes I liked that, it made it more mysterious, but sometimes I just wanted to know!

A charming story about a former vet who decides to give up helping animals’ physical ailments and instead work on the emotional side by opening a practice as an animal behaviorist. As the book begins, she just ended an engagement with a man who broke her heart and is struggling with that…in addition to the pit-falls of opening a new practice. Just when things could not get worse, she stumbles upon a man from her past…and that encounter brings back all sorts of bad memories that she feels are unresolved…so she sets out to resolve them. Not exactly high literature, but for “chick lit” it’s well above-average. Wolff’s style and sense of character is not too idiotic (which I find in quite a bit of this genre)…the main character is bright, yet realistic. Sure, some of it is a little unbelievable, but it is fiction…

This was a pretty cute, readable book. British romance at it's most charming. I am a sucker for books with added animals so this one was fun to read. It bugged me that she has a Dachsund and there is what appears to be a Rhodesian Ridgeback on the cover but that's not the books fault. ;-)

I did find the protagonsit a little self absorbed and how this was highlighted through her relationship with her best friend made her a bit less sympathetic to me but then - this is sort of what happens to us in the midst of so much stuff, so I guess that was realistic.
