It was painfully slow until she met Tate. I almost dropped it, but it was so worth it in the end!

I’m obsessed with this book! I picked it up blind and didn’t know what I was getting in to at all, but once I was about a third of the way through I couldn’t get enough!
THANK GOD Kya and Tate got together in the end, I would have been very mentally unwell if they didn’t. Also the bomb at the very end of Kya as Amanda Hamilton and the evidence of her killing Chase??? INSANE!
I usually don’t love books written in third person but I loved this once and I think it was necessary in order to include so many different perspectives (mainly Tate’s). 5 stars for sure!

A compelling mystery along with a compelling coming of age story. The main character is resourceful and often independent until a man shows up. My main qualm with this book was the relationships between the main character and her lovers. Poorly written and even the good guy was problematic.

It was fine. It reminds me of other books that I like a lot. But I'd say the main difference between the books I like and this one would be the main character. Didn't care for Kya and so didn't care for the book.

No interest in seeing the movie.

I had put off reading this because I tend to be let down by the books that have a lot of hype around them, but this was an enjoyable read.

Slow start but picked up pace around half way through.  The author really brought out the pain caused by abandonment and also the prejudices Kya was subject to.

The connection Kya had with the natural world around her was lovely to read.
