When I heard CC was doing mafia, I was so excited! This was pretty good!

This story follows an arranged marriage between Nico and Emelia who are from rival families. The spice, tension and banter between these two was great! I loved how Emilia was a strong FMC and stood up for herself and Nico is the classic possessive mafia boss. Give this a shot if you're looking to read a new mafia romance!

I ate this up. I felt like I couldn’t read fast enough to find out what would happen next. I loved Emelia and Nico’s story. It was something neither of them wanted nor expected when they went into this arranged marriage, but turned into so much more. They each had their reasons for why they were doing what they were doing but somewhere along the way things took a turn. I loved Emelia’s sass and confidence and most of all her fight. She did not back down, even when she had so many reasons she could have. Nico was rough around the edges and scary, but deep down I always felt there was something there. Emelia and Nico brought of things in one another you’d never have thought of. Throw in all the danger that comes with being in the mafia and some dirty spice. One of my favorite reads this year!

This was a great mafia romance!
Emilia is a mafia princess who has been treated like crap by her whole family for most of her life. Her father agrees to an arranged marriage for her with an extremely ruthless mob boss. Emilia's father is using her to get information about Nico, her new husband, and his outfit. Emilia decided pretty early on that she won't betray her husband.
Nico agrees to the arranged marriage for the sole purpose of getting Emilia on his side, then rubbing it in Emila's fathers face, then getting rid of him. Emilia expects to trade one prison for another when he marries Nico. He vows to never physically hurt her but also vows to never love her. They had a hate-filled beginning of their marriage, and they only way they found solace was when they were intimate with each other.
Nico is immediately taken aback by Emilia. He expected her to be docile and submissive, but she was headstrong and brave. She was sick of being treated like a pawn and being treated like she didn't matter. Emilia told Nico exactly how she felt, and he grew to respect her. They came to an understanding and started to get to know each other to at least become civil.
The more they got to know each other, the more they thought their marriage could be more than just sex. Nico came to really care for Emilia, and she knew she loved him. Emilia's family has been trying to take down Nico for a while, and when Emilia's family kidnaps her, Nico knows its war.
Emilia has never known love and had never had anyone care about her until Nico. And Nico always thought be didn't have the capacity to love. Emilia is the calm to Nico's chaos and the soft to his hard. They are the perfect match, even though they didn't believe so, at first.

I LOVE a good mafia romance and arranged marriage but this, this hate to love you was soo good! The banter was so fun and delicious and hate s3x. makes you want to melt. This is the first time I've read this author and I was not disappointed. I am usually a fast reader but I found myself wanting to savor this book because the story was that good! I love the attitude on the FMC she's not about to be the door mat for another man. She let's all that pent up rage show and it's GLORIOUS! I also love that she's a curvier character and she's so unapologetic about it, and embraces it. The MMC is just so swoon worthy with his red flags and Psych0tic behavior. No one is going to take what's his and he will stop at nothing to protect it. This is a dark romance so do check trigger warnings. The best part is even though they hate each other he pulls the "MY WIFE" card and I just love it!

If you are looking for a plus sized mafia romance with arranged marriage, forced proximity, strong fmc who isn’t ashamed that she’s plus sized; look no further. This book is one of the best books that CC has written. I loved that Emelia loved her body & wasn’t afraid to show it. Nico is the typical made man who doesn’t know that he’s missing his queen. CC had a story that drug me in and I finished it in one sitting, I never wanted their story to end.

Emelia is the daughter of a mob boss. She is forced in an arranged marriage to marry the most feared mob boss in Seattle, Nico. Her father is expecting her to send back information so he can destroy Nico. That is what Emelia plans to do, but Nico has other plans.
First off, I have followed C.C. Monroe on TikTok and knew that I needed to read this book soon as I could get my hands on it and let me say for my first book by C.C. this did not disappoint! I was hooked from the start and binge read this whole book, I may have stayed up way late and only got a few hours of sleep to finish it...but so worth it. I love how Emelia didn't hide who she was, she had sass and she showed it no matter what. She stuck up for who she was and didn't want to be "locked up" in another cage during this marriage, she made sure she had her voice. Nico, wow. I love how annoyed he gets with Emelia I laughed at the parts where she pushed his buttons. There is definitely spice, chemistry from the beginning with both of them. Plus, if you love a good touch her and die mafia man then Nico is it. The last 80% of the book...so good but omg! I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by C.C. Monroe.

How does one love if never felt love before?
Emelia comes from a mafia family who despises her, shows her no love. Being married off to a rival mafia family for supposed peace.
Nico a Mafia mob boss, has plans of his own with this arranged marriage.
Emelia. She is a firecracker full of hate, bottled up emotions, and no way to release her feelings. Her spunk and brattiness comes out in SPADES ♠️.
Nico is a dominating man who can talk so filthy it’s sexy reading the words. His ability to run his outfit and manage Emelia is a feat in itself.
“I know she’s a firecracker waiting to be lit, to skyrocket into a spiral. To fly free from her confines and let whoever is in her way feel years of pent-up wrath.”
These two were a bomb waiting to go off. AND DID IT EVER!
