After her popular boyfriend announces that he’s gay and dumps her, Viola is miserable. She feels like she’s become invisible, and wishes more than anything that she could fit in the way she used to.

When she accidentally summons a genie who promises her three wishes, she finally has her chance. There’s only one problem – as she and Jinn, the genie, get to know each other better, she starts to fall for him. Viola wants Jinn to stay in her world, but if she makes all three wishes, he’ll disappear forever.

A bit too Twilight-y in parts, but overall, this was solid enough chick-lit.

This book was so cute and amazing! I loved this book so much! It's been a long time since I've read a really good contemporary book, and this book made me remember why I love Contemporary Romance so much. This book had the cutest romance and I loved all the characters. This book is so underrated, I really recommend it. Stay tuned for a full review on my blog :)

I found this book boring and uhhh....immature. Maybe next time, Jackson Pearce. I still want to read Sweetly and Sisters Red.

Reading this book, you can't help but wish that you lived in Panama. The traditions the author details about the towns events just make you want to live there. It's like a rural paradise - which fits my own backwoodsy family and instincts. Based on the books I've read by her, I've decided that Barbara Delinsky is, overall, a "grandma writer." That may be because my grandma loves her, or it may be because, in her photo, she is wearing those white grandma shoes. You know the ones. Regardless, Delinsky created a great setting, but has underdeveloped characters and issues once again. For most of the book, there was really no conflict. And, the ending was so predictable that I skipped several chapters just to reach it so I could be finished. At times, it was just too slow because you knew exactly where it was going. The ending was heart-rending, but it failed to address specific issues with other characters. I won't spoil it. There are lots of details in here about the relationship between Bree and Tom and their intimacy...I feel weird now that my grandma has read it and recommended it to me. Grandma and I are going to have to sit down and talk about what's appropriate for her to read :)

The writing was quite engaging, although I noticed that more at the beginning than later. (Either I got used to it or it didn't stay that way.) The overall story didn't really work for me. Also, Aaron and Ollie really got screwed, however they felt in the end. :(

I've searched a lot for it and now it's within my grasp - I should have known. When you can't find it it isn't because it's a freaking bestseller.

The story was cute, the idea, so far, original, but the writing... She could have explored the theme a little more - much more. And she fell in love... oh, so quick. I don't know...

If Viola were real maybe it could have happened, but she sometimes makes Twilight's Bella seem a dazzling overflow of personality.

Interesting premise. A bit too 'teen angsty' for my taste, though. The ending was good, although I did not find it entirely satisfactory. Over all. . .I wouldn't bother reading it again.

Re-read.

I did enjoy re-reading it, but I didn't like Viola one bit. Jinn was cute, gotta love him.

Oye, ¿no puede venir Genio conmigo? Deseo muchos libros... xD
¡GENIOS! ¬¬
