Blackwater is utterly adorable… as much as a horror can be adorable. I loved the story and the very real feelings of the characters. The art was perfect and I loved how the action was drawn. I particularly enjoyed the diverse representation in this novel, which was done really well. The father and son relationship was a little weak though, but not enough to spoil the rest of the story. A re-read for sure.

A lovely graphic novel with great art and a solid story. I enjoyed the complexity of the characters, their relationships, and emotions, but felt there were a few unaddressed elements introduced throughout yet never revisited.

This graphic novel was excellent! Fun characters, great plot, nice LGBTQIA+ representation, and werewolves. What's not to love???

Definitely going to put this one on my top ten list to recommend to other readers.

5 stars!

This was a cute, heartwarming little story. (I guess it counts as horror to people who don’t routinely read or watch horror stuff, otherwise it’s just paranormal.)

I enjoyed it, and both art styles are very cool. I found the story itself to be very simple and cliche, which wasn’t what I was hoping for. The only things to make it stand out was the artwork, the gay romance, an FTM trans protagonist, and an unnamed but apparently debilitating autoimmune disorder in one of the main characters. (I really don’t like it when medical conditions aren’t named, especially when it’s a relevant part of the story! But then, I have one of those invisible autoimmune diseases, so I suppose it’s a personal subject.)

Overall, enjoyable but probably forgettable.
