WHEW!! Where do I start!! I'm numb and so emotional as I type this.....I couldn't put this book down although I cried listening to most of it. I resonated so much with Alani, listening to the grief, the broken heart, the confusion her character had me feeling like I was staring in a mirror. Ethic's character is not only attractive but admirable... Life is a rollercoaster and God's plan for our lives is the only plan that matters. I'm looking forward to reading this entire series!!

This book is filled with bad decisions, big hearts, death, fear, flawed good hearted people, love and most of all the power of GOD!!
I love how there’s multiple POV’s throughout the book.

I finished reading this in one sitting. This book here, kept me at the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed the storytelling and the character building. I have a lot of questions about certain characters that I’m sure will be answered in the next books. This is an Ashley Antoinette novel so it’s always going to hit. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

I almost tapped out after the r*ape happened but kept on listening because I had to know what would happen next. Ethic had me clutching my pearls and calling on the Lord the whole time. There were times when I saw something coming a mile away but it was still enjoyable. Can't wait to listen to part two because I need to know if Alani's BD knows it's really Ethic who accidentally murdered his daughter. I felt so bad for Alani. Sis couldn't catch a break! Baby as soon as Ethic told me he did it I'd grab my purse and go right to the police. Forget crying into his arms!

Honestly, if there is one thing that I know Ashley can do, it’s write a compelling novel. Ethic is the follow up to Moth to a Flame which was a wild reading experience for me. Readers have the opportunity to follow some of the same characters from that storyline like Ethic and Morgan. This is a novel that will make you happy, frustrate you, thrill you, break your heart and more. While some of the plot elements were a little on the wild side, I would say that the character development is on point. There was a connection that I felt to Ethic and truly empathized with his life experiences. He doesn’t always make the best decisions but I know that he always has the best intentions. Reading from Morgan’s perspective as a dominant character in this novel was also interesting. She’s deaf and struggles a lot with her identity in the context of the other characters. Readers may find that she appears to be similar to Raven in some ways, but quite honestly she does develop a persona and life of her own. I enjoyed the back and forth between her and Messiah. I’m not exactly sure where that relationship is headed but it’ll be a fun one to watch develop through the course of the series.

Overall, this was a good installment to the overall series. I’m hoping that Ethic eventually does get a much deserved break because throughout it the entirety of this book, I felt like he just kept losing. I want him to get that happily ever after but for right now it just seems unachievable. If you’re looking for a fast paced, thrilling, and dynamic series, I would definitely recommend checking this out.
